A Journalist’s Journey Through Memoir, Divorce, and Astrology
This month, meet Betsy Vereckey, journalist, essayist, and debut memoirist whose work has appeared in The New York Times’ Modern Love column, The Boston Globe, The Washington Post, and more. Her forthcoming memoir, Moving to My Dog’s Hometown, chronicles her leap from a post-divorce life in New York City to rural Hanover, New Hampshire—with wit, vulnerability, and insight on how to begin anew after hardship.
Betsy is also a practicing astrologer who has written about the stars for The LA Times, specifically about what it was like to do her mother’s chart, decades after she died. Her work blends personal storytelling with cosmic curiosity, and she’ll speak about both the craft of astrology and the wisdom it can bring to life’s transitions.
Now based in Norwich, Betsy lives in an old farmhouse with her husband and three terriers and volunteers with injured…
